The last few days of 2011 were marked with a bit of grief, we’re sad to say, as the inspiring and revolutionary designer Eva Zeisel passed away December 30th. Her long-lasting career was filled with simple, beautiful, lovely designs that re-created the idea of American dinnerware. The Washington Post did an excellent job of describing her life’s work, Eva Zeisel, groundbreaking designer, dies. We absolutely loved the TED talk she gave in 2001 about how she was always on a “playful search for beauty” and we love how sassy she is about describing how she was still working well into her later years:
