French artist Bernard Pras is widely known for his unbelievable found-object installations. In anamorphic artworks like these, he hides his images in piles of what seems to be plain junk. An anamorphosis is a deformed image that appears in its true shape when viewed in some “unconventional” way. This technique was created in the late Renaissance (16th century).
Artist, Verne Gyula, has hidden a portrait within a portrait. When placed in a normal position this looks like a portrait of a shipwreck but when it’s placed in a cylinder, it’s a portrait of Jules Verne.
