Tesla Could Learn Something From This Lego Car-Building Factory

Tesla’s hit a few speed bumps in getting all the pre-ordered Model 3's out the door and onto customers’ driveways. But perhaps the company can learn something from Daniele Benedettelli, who created a fully autonomous Lego car factory using the iconic building toy.

Now, I’m not saying Musk should consider rebuilding his factories out of brightly colored plastic bricks, but Benedettelli’s Lego car factory even lets customers choose various color options before their vehicle rolls off the line. Like real factories, this one relies on many pre-built components to get vehicles rolling off the line quickly, but that doesn’t make it any less fun to see in action. It also makes me wonder how long it will be before Lego’s own factories will just be made from Lego.

Watching This Lego Figure Perpetually Mow Its Lawn Is the Most Relaxing Thing

A few years ago, Jason Allemann of JK Brickworks created an animated Lego version of the tragic Greek figure, Sisyphus, perpetually pushing a giant boulder. Using the same building techniques, Allemann has created a modern version of that character, who now spends eternity perpetually mowing a lawn that will never stop growing.

The kinetic sculpture was inspired by a similar animated Lego lawnmower designed and built by Josh David, but Allemann’s version introduces an animated homeowner decked out in a tank top, short shorts, and knee-high white socks. The model seems to perfectly encapsulate life in suburbia—minus the unwelcome surprises left on your lawn by the neighbor’s dog.

LEGO Set Based on NBC’s Classic Sitcom ‘The Golden Girls’ Under Review to Become an Official LEGO Product

LEGO artists lostsleep has created an awesome LEGO set based on NBC‘s classic sitcom from the 1980s and 1990s, The Golden Girls. Thanks to 10,000 supporters backing lostsleep’s project on the LEGO Ideas website, their proposed set is currently under review and will hopefully become an official LEGO product.

It is the Foyer, Living Room, and Kitchen built like a TV set, with one wall removed and a full view into the space. It comes with 5 minifigures including Dorothy, Rose, Sophia, Blanche, and Stanley. It has been meticulously recreated to have opening cupboards and fridge in the kitchen, Wicker Sofa and Chairs, a hallway backdrop, a storage closet in the kitchen, and an outdoor area with potted plants and a hose.

Lucky Luke with the Dalton Brothers (including a Sheriffs Office, Rantanplan and Jolly Jumper)

Lucky Luke is a Belgian comics series created by Belgian cartoonist Maurice De Bevere,
better known as Morris, and for one period written by René Goscinny.
Set in the American Old West, it stars the title character Lucky Luke, the cowboy known
as the " man who shoots faster than his shadow".

Publication date: December 7, 1946

So its the 70th anniversary of Lucky Luke and perfect for Lego.

The Set would contain:

Lucky Luke
Jolly Jumper (the smartest horse in the world)
Rantanplan (the stupidest dog in the universe)
The Daltons (Joe, William, Jack and Averell)
also
a Sheriffs Office
some Decorations like: a cactus, a standpipe, a sign, gold, tools...

The roof can be removed to play inside the office.
The office would contain a desk and some cupboards.
On the side there would be a prison with a bed.
To realize a "prison break" the wall could be removed.

LEGO ‘Ghostbusters’ Firehouse Headquarters Set Complete With Character Minifigs

LEGO has released official images, on Facebook and Twitter, of their upcoming Ghostbusters-themedFirehouse Headquarters set. The 4,634 piece set features two floors with a laboratory, living quarters, the ghost containment unit, and nine Minifigs (Peter, Ray, Egon, Winston, Janine, Dana, Louis, a zombie driver, and the library ghost). LEGO’s new set is currently scheduled to release in January 2016.

Build Upons, Illuminating Building Bricks That Bring Light to LEGO Creations

Build Upons are illuminating building bricks created by Boulder, Colorado-based startup Lunchbox Electronics that are compatible with LEGO blocks, bringing light to the popular construction toys. The set features a power brick, a bridge brick, and a small 1×1 LED brick that glows white. The company is currently seeking funding for the project on Kickstarter.

A Fully Functional Vintage-Style Record Player Made From 2,405 LEGO Pieces

The Planet is a fully functional vintage-style 45 RPM turntable designed by Korean LEGO enthusiastHayarobi in 2014 that was built from 2,405 pieces. The impressive project, naturally, contains some non-LEGO components, but does have its very own LEGO speakers.
