The
European Space Agency (ESA) has released a
compilation of breathtaking time-lapse videos of Earth taken by German astronaut
Alexander Gerst during his time aboard the
International Space Station (ISS). The videos highlight incredible views of
auroras, cities at night, and even segments of the exterior of the ISS like the
Canadarm2 in action.
Gerst lived aboard the ISS from May 29, 2014 to November 10, 2014 as part of
Expedition 40,
Expedition 41 and the ESA
Blue Dot mission.
