Description: In Mexico, there is a cult that is rapidly growing - the cult of the Saint of Death. This female grim reaper, considered a saint by followers but Satanic by the Catholic Church, is worshiped by people whose lives are filled with danger and/or violence - criminals, gang members, transvestites, sick people, drug addicts, and families living in rough neighborhoods.
La Santa Muerte is a horrific nightmare that comes to life for a young gang member who makes a pledge to the Saint of Death. Before leaving prison, Diego (David Enriquez) has a change of fate when his cellmate trusts him with two secrets: the first is a suitcase filled with millions of pesos and the second is the possibility of becoming immortal through a pagan ritual. With the promise of 2 million pesos and the prospect of eternal life, a young gangbanger named Diego (David Enriquez) makes a deal with the Holy Saint of Death and winds up with more trouble than he bargained for. Once freed, Diego begins a war with drug dealers in his quest for revenge. From that moment forth, unable to undo his fatal pact with the Saint of Death, Diego is haunted and his life is just one big bloodbath. His destiny is sealed.
"The Roman Catholic archdiocese of Mexico City condemned devotion to Santa Muerte 'Saint Death' that masquerades as authentic Catholic Christianity." Officially condemned by the Catholic Church
