The
final version of Alfa Romeo's 6C series arrived in 1939 with a new 2.5
litre engine. The first version dated back as far as 1925 fitted with a
1.5 litre engine (6C 1500). The short wheel base version of the 6C 2500
was dubbed 'SS' (Super Sport) and was equipped with a 105bhp version of
the six cylinder engine. In various forms production of this Vittorio
Jano designed chassis lasted until 1952, with an interruption caused by
the Second World War.
This model is fitted with a stunning Touring designed coupe bodywork. It has undergone a complete and thorough restoration, making it one of the most beautiful Alfa Romeos around. It's first concours d'elegance appearance after the restoration was at the 2002 Louis Vuitton Classic held at Bagatelle park in Paris. The premiere was not without success as the Touring 6C 2500 SS was awarded with both the best in class as best of show prizes.
